OF LIGHTS AND PLATFORMS -Okelola Stephen

One common antiquity is the lantern which was common to every household and still much available in many rural areas. Though advancement in technology has almost driven this antique into extinction- technology such as bulbs, rechargeable lamps etc.
Yet, we still have households not yet wanting to evolve into the latest technologies probably due to being adapted to the tradition of its use. In case you don’t know a lantern, it is an old time lighting house hold item that engages the use of kerosene or other suitable fuels. One interest about the use of lamps (lanterns or latest technology); is the manner and position in which they are placed in order to effectively serve its purpose. They are placed high enough to lighten up the whole room.
Jesus, in His sermon on the mount, emphasized the truth about our identity in that we are “lights”.
Mathew 5:14-15
“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.
15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.
No one lights a lamp and places it under a covering or no sensible electrician will connect and place a lamp (lighting) inside your cupboard leaving the whole room dark.
In the pursuit of life purpose (God’s intention for our lives), it is not only important to discover God’s intention, it is very important to discover the platform we must be placed in other to really reveal God’s intent to our people.
Is it thinkable to see a lamp placed in the floor and covered with a bucket? It’s very funny right? This is the position that many have found themselves; they have discovered their purpose, but the frustration around their lives is due to their inability to decipher the platform predesigned for the fulfilment of their purpose.
God is glory-hungry, praise-thirsty. Discovering purpose alone won’t bring the glory and praise He deserved. Why?
Mathew 5 vs 16
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
You must deliver your message on the right platform. You are to shine. Discover your right positioning and when men see it, they will give glory to your father in heaven!
