“One day, when Moses had grown up, he went out to his people and looked on their burden; and he saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his people. He looked this way and that, and seeing no one he killed the Egyptian and hid him in the sand”. Exodus211-12
Everyone who has made it, those we call celebrities, I mean people recognized in our society, those we have read about, those whom we have felt their impact aren’t just a product of circumstances. They were not there in a twinkle of an eye. Do not despise the days of little beginning … says the Bible. Looking afar though it may seems impossible to get there .The future may not be known but you have a Known God. Someone said and I quote “Don’t look at how big your problem is, but how big your God is”.
Every journey in life begins with a step; a step against procrastination, a step against criticism, a step against discouragements, a step against all hindrances that you could ever mention. Some started their journey aimlessly, some out of compulsion from nature or the people around them, some by their circumstances and some by the creator. Are you on a journey at all? Where are you going? What call has purpose placed upon you? Who are those chained to you, such that if you fail they fail, if you miss it they miss it. There are many who will not go to school if you don’t make it.
People like Abraham, Isaac, Jacob,David, Daniel,Nehemiah, Esther, Mary, Jesus, John the Baptist, the disciples and Paul to mention few. They were men that influenced their world. Their life story has the following statements: One day, grown up,went out, looked on their burdens, saw, looked at this way and that.
For most of us that really enjoy reading or listening to stories am sure the part we want to carefully read or listen to is the part or paragraph that starts with“one day”, am I right? If you agree with me stop reading and ask yourself the reason why this part always catches your attention. There are many days in the life of an individual, for Moses it was 43,800 days and many of those days were not taken note of except the important ones, the ones that could not be left out. Every destiny journey begins with a step, and such a step is a crucial step. A step that shows maturity and readiness. And such step starts ‘one day’. For some people their ‘one day’ never comes till their death day. For some their ‘one day’ is activated by obedience, some by submission and some by circumstances. That ‘one day’ in your own story will never come unless you activate it. Such a day are days of making the right choice, the choice to obey or to disobey, a choice to act or to stand, a choice to go out or to remain there. Such a day don’t just come, we make them happen. Like am sounding too spiritual?
To site some among many; One day a man named Abraham Lincoln issued a preliminary emancipation proclamation, which took effect on January 1, 1863 and freed all of the slaves in the rebellious states but left those in the border in bondage, Another man named William Wilberforce, one day (November 1786) brought forward the abolition of the slave trade in parliament until the passage of the slave trade Act of 1807, in Britain. There were many days in their lives but this day can be reckoned with. They are days that either give meaning to other days or destroy the works of other days. For some it is the day they gave their life to Christ, Some the day they started their business and some the day they got married. They are peculiar days amidst many. When will your one day come? What will your one day stand for?
